The eyelids are the folds of skin that protect the eyes from dirt and moisture. Humans have two eyelids, one above and one below the eye, while some animals have three.
Eyelashes are located at the edge of the upper and lower eyelids, which prevent particles from entering the eye by quickly closing the eye upon touch.
